And I've been Tumbling... or whatever it's called..

So I recently noticed that the majority of crap in my room is paper, so I've been tossing out sketches and scanning the nice ones. Most have ended up on Tumblr and as I sort through more of 'em they're going there.

Well, highschool's over for me, and I guess it's time to start getting serious. For the last few months much of school stuff has been occupying my time; so I haven't had much time to do any stuff that's really upload-worthy.
I'm starting to reflect, however back on my old work and how much I've improved over time. I'm feeling confident now that I can start doing much better things, so I'm going to get to work once my exams are done with.
I wonder what I should do next though....
I'm not ready to go back to school, but what should I work on now that I'm free for a bit?
I'm not sure if anyone's reading this; but if you are, expect something more from me now.

It appears that some massive cunt is proposing that ISPs start charging people by the byte for their internet services.
This is what has been used primarily for smart phones and those silly little dongles that supposedly give you internet "anywhere". Now for those I don't mind having people charge the amount that they do, people who check the internet on their smart phones really have no use for it other than showing off. Honestly in my experience, you'll only have the internet running on that device up until the moment where you actually need it, and if you really think you need to be on facebook while you're walking outside, maybe being broke is exactly what you need. But I digress...

It appears that they want to bring this to home computers which can only serve one purpose: To make them a lot of money.
Money which they don't even need since NOBODY IS PIRATING THE INTERNET. THEY HAVE NEARLY ALL OF CANADA FORKING OUT AT LEAST 40 DOLLARS PER MONTH TO THEM PER HOUSEHOLD.

Most of us at around 14-36 years old download a lot of files and i don't mean torrents, I just mean files used for doing homework and buying programs online. That means you will be charged an extra sum whenever you take the deals on the sites. This benefits nobody except the people who use the internet VERY little. This basically punishes people who are actually enthusiastic about the internet.

I think I've said enough, hell :iconlilrenald: probably said it better in her journal but check out this openmedia.ca/meter if you want to try to stop this before it starts.

Hey!
I think this Christmas was definitely more about materialism than it was about family for me...
Didn't really do much other than clean, draw, see family and get yelled at.
Although, i did get some great presents! I got Usagi Yojimbo 18 and 19; my own copies of MGS4, RE5 and Folklore for the PS3 and my brand new large Intuos 4 is being shipped on monday.
I also got an extra 60$ to use now at the mall near here. I might get myself some ref books from chapters, although the idea of buying one of those gaming-mouses looks interesting. I'm hoping to find some nice Moleskine sketchbook or maybe a some kind of prop to dance around my room with.
Aanyways, today i decided to stay home instead of going out anywhere so, I got some great alone-time to sit, watch movies on my laptop and draw some sexy nudes just for fun. yeah... these'll probably just end up in the bin later XD
I'm working on my "tales of" secret Santa gift... boy it's hard to draw tales characters... there's almost no good ref pics and the guys are incredibly popular.... yeah, still working on drawing men...
whatevs! Can't wait for the new Doctor who episode today
Have a nice boxing day!

I just got out of seeing TRON Legacy and I have just 3 points about it

1- One of the most amazing times I've had during a movie. Seriously, WATCH IT! I especially enjoyed the light cycle scene.

2- Ending was a tad shitty. Watch the movie, you'll understand.

3- There was almost NOBODY there... I'm feeling strange because even though I got great seats, I'm starting to feel really old ... and I'm only 16....

verdict:
I really really liked it and had loads of fun.

Merry Christmas everyone!

If, you've read the book, watch it.
If you haven't, stop being lazy.
Trust me YOU WON"T BE ABLE TO ENJOY THE MOVIE properly.
It's a book movie. Not inspired by it. Made to follow it.

With that aside; the stereotype on the these movies is that the book is always better.
This is an exception. My personal opinion is that action like this just doesn't work as well in a book as it does in a movie. In fact, the only kind of action I've found to work in a book is comedic action.
Things like James bond and cherub work well because its easier to imagine a funny action scene from just words; while serious action requires at least some shnazzy sound effects or some awesome graphics.

The think that kept me enthralled(more-so than the book mind you) in the movie was the subtle changes and humor that wasn't in the book; and that's what i was looking for. Something to please people who have read the book but not living too much in its shadow. Unlike some of the previous ones, things that are omitted still are acknowledged in the film. SO I don't think anyone should listen at all to the people who are mad about it's likeness to the book. This is exactly what a book-film adaptation should be; it's a version that takes the book seriously but can mock it a bit when it's being a bit silly.

People keep telling me that it ended at a bad place. I can't understand why, though... It ended at the only place where it could. Anywhere else would mean it being right in the middle of action. Plus, it doesn't advertise the next movie like most other book-movies; do if anything, it brings the events to a neat close so that you can leave the theater satisfied enough to go and write your damn fan-fiction(those who've watched the movie will understand this a bit more than those who haven't.). It still previews the next movie, but only enough to make it flow correctly.

My only con would be in the acting. Thought it's still kind-of a compliment. Everyone is delivering their lines as if they're just saying them instead of acting them. Which makes sense on some level, since they're all distracted with all the shit they've gotta deal with. But still, I couldn't stop noticing it during the movie....

Anyways; I say, watch this. But read the book first. Even if you've gotta find the clip-notes and listen to your younger sibling for an hour.
